zombiejihadi: islam says why women need to cover up and its for the reason i said before:D refer to ur holy book or ask a scholar, however u like, but u should know this as a muslim.
Women can wear whatever they want and it can mean a thousand things and i never assume anything dont worry, but when a woman wears a hejab and is muslim, it just means one thing, there are no assumptions needed. let me ask u something, as a muslim feminist woman, what did u think of the recent slut walks?
as for the dear jesuisjoiedevivre: niqabs and burka were removed for safety reasons, because they’d cover the face and identity of the person. Inform yourself, if anything
modernscarf: it doesnt matter what u think of the hejab, cause islam clearly states its purpose and why it is there, so u can dress as many nude models as u want, and it does not matter, the hejab stays the hejab. You seem to love using the word ignorance, do u even know what it means? im not the one going around acting all liberal and muslim (which btw is a total oxymoron but u wouldn’t know since u proved u dont even know ur own religion)
Please, inform me what the purpose of wearing hijab is since you are so knowledgeable? It is to sustain modesty - which is an obligation in my religion, sweetie. What exactly is acting all Muslim? And ‘liberal’ … I like that word haha so, because I am Muslim I cannot have an opinion of my own? We’ve clearly established you can’t form your own, since you seem to be going along with mainstream ideologies. The fact that you use the word Muslim as an adjective - reveals your ignorance … My point in stating that I work with models - who are nude, clothed, whatever have you, is that it is irrelevant how a woman CHOOSES to present herself. Islam doesn’t discriminate against those who choose to reveal their body parts (NON-MUSLIMS) - but everyone seems to want to discriminate against us who choose to wear hijab*. In fact, although it is obligatory, it is against our beliefs to force anyone to cover up - that is a choice that the woman herself has to make. As I said, the message wasn’t intended to spread how righteous our religion is - it was to speak out against those who are truly OPPRESSING Muslim women, in the sense that they cannot wear what they choose to wear. Your misinforming comments about why Muslim women CHOOSE to cover up is what brought up my “acting Muslim”. But I will agree with you, you clearly have a better grasp on what ignorance is than I do (:
